A quick summary of the job:

  • You will coach, train and empower drivers to be safe and efficient professional representatives of Lyman Lumber.
  • You will supervise team of drivers, scheduler, dispatch and mechanics to maximize delivery capacity.
  • You will seek continuous improvement in processes related last mile logistics of facility.
  • You will coordinate with Operations Supervisors to ensure quality, speed and safety of customer deliveries.
  • You will ensure compliance with DOT and local regulations, contribute to maintenance plans for equipment used. Enforce DVIR process, as well as fleet readiness
  • You will develop your team of employees with continuous improvement and LEAN methodologies.
  • You will manage courier and 3rd party spend for Outbound shipments
  • You will be responsible for KPI relating to last mile logistics of Operation.
  • You will be a hands-on mentor to drivers, technicians and administrative support.
  • You will build a team culture of empowerment and process driven results


We want you to join our team if you can check most of these boxes:

  • You have a college education or comparable work history
  • You have knowledge of routing and dispatching a fleet of 20+ trucks performing multiple local routes daily
  • You have knowledge of FMCSR & DOT regulations
  • You have experience in a building materials or construction related industry.
  • You have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills; you’re a team player
  • You have some supervisory experience
