Inside Sales Representative

We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative for our Windsor team!

Wisconsin Building Supply is growing our team at our Windsor location and looking for a team member who can support their experienced and professional sales organization.

The Inside Sales Representative is a vital role and acts as the main hub of all sales related activity. To maintain out outstanding customer service experience, we are looking for an individual with construction knowledge and preference working in the industry. 

Position Review: 

Assist with customer sales and outside sales representatives by providing product and/ or customer sales information. Provide quotes and product dimension information, both in person and over the phone. Handle special orders and advanced pricing.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Responds to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, requests for prices and quotations, complaints and scheduling of deliveries and installations, and providing customer follow-ups.
  2. Initiates telephone calls to customers to generate sales.
  3. Coordinates purchase and delivery of special products. Obtains information on pricing specifications, uses and availability.
  4. Codes and inputs customer orders, pricing information and additional data into the computer system.
  5. Creates sales tickets.
  6. Maintains stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
  7. Operates and balances cash register daily.
  8. Researches credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
  9. Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  10. Other duties as assigned by location management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Minimum education required— High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Minimum experience required— 1 year in building material industry with basic knowledge of product and application
  3. Special skills required— Ability to operate computer, calculator & cash register. Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry. Good interpersonal and customer relations skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be familiar with inventory and inventory control.
  4. Confidentiality requirement--
  5. Must be able to walk throughout yards, plants and offices.
  6. Physical demands include the ability to lift 25lbs. on a consistent basis and 50 pounds or more on a random basis. Bending stooping or sitting for long periods of time.
