Warehouse associate

Department: DCS - Dayton
Location: Dayton, NJ

Warehouse associate: 

Receive, stock, ship, order and count inventory items.  This is an entry level position that is responsible for the safe operation of a forklift in order to stock all materials. Perform duties within the established work and safety procedures.   

Essential Job Duties: 

1.    Assist warehouse associates and direct supervisor in maintaining an organized work environment.
2.    Receive in-coming warehouse products, commodities and materials.
3.    Count and record receipt of materials.
4.    Stock all material received in appropriate bins or storage locations.
5.    Assist inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials.
6.    Follow all company policies and guidelines. 
7.    Operate forklift with foot and hand controls.
8.    Safely load materials into storage facilities, this includes the safe use of an automated loading systems.
9.    Keep all bays stocked and neat to facilitate efficient load building processes.
10.    Use forklift to build outgoing orders.
11.    Use forklift to load completed orders onto delivery equipment maintaining safe procedures and stacking methods.
12.    Empty trash receptacles as necessary.
13.    Operate bander and other facility equipment as necessary.
14.    Keep staging areas clean and organized.
15.    Follow safety procedures as outlined by company safety program and operator manual for forklift.
16.    Maintain a current forklift operator’s license.
17.    Assist load builders and delivery as required by location management.
18.    Monitor inventory as required by location management.
19.    Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results. 

20.    Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
21.    Other duties as assigned by Management


1.    Minimum education required—High school diploma or GED.
2.    Minimum experience required—6 months or more in building materials industry. 6 months experience in warehousing and handling products using computerized inventory systems.
3.    Other—Basic math skills, ability to identify and measure commodities and specialty building products.
4.    Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods of time, exposure to extreme temperatures, bending or stooping, regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 100 pounds or more.
