Department: RBS - North Port
Location: North Port, FL

Raymond Building Supply is one of the area's Leading Building Material Supplier in Southwest Florida. We are looking for a full-time Mechanic at our North Port facility.

Position Review:

Conduct maintenance, as well as minor and major repairs to equipment including forklifts and trucks. Must possess the skill and ability to dismantle engines and make appropriate repairs.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Maintain work area; maintain all equipment in a clean, safe working condition.
  2. Follow all instructions and guidelines as outlined by direct supervisor.
  3. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs as directed by direct supervisor.
  4. Make basic equipment repairs according to manufactures specifications.
  5. All repairs must be made in compliance with established lockout/Tag out procedures
  6. Maintain and complete all equipment records in neat and orderly fashion.
  7. Assist in building maintenance projects as needed, i.e. build racks, repair racking, run wire in all areas, plumbing, carpentry, or run errands.
  8. Assist in cleaning shop when needed.
  9. Maintain tools and equipment in the safest manner possible, inspect equipment daily.
  10. Must know how to operate all equipment utilized in assigned location or group of locations.
  11. Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  12. Assist in other areas as assigned by location management.

May Also:

  1. Perform extensive repairs as directed by direct supervisor.
  2. Make extensive equipment repairs according to manufactures specifications.
  3. Repair equipment in compliance with established Safety, DOT and other compliance monitoring agency’s procedures.
  4. Monitor, maintain, and update warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed.
  5. Train associates in warehouse equipment repair.


  1. Minimum education required—High school or GED. Additional training courses in related field demonstrating extensive level of knowledge and skill may be necessary.
  2. Minimum experience required—6 months warehouse maintenance and vehicle background.
  3. Special skills/training: Vehicular mechanic must be able to obtain a CDL license.
  4. Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, brakes, welding and general maintenance. Additional knowledge of advanced electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, welding, general maintenance, may be required.
  5. Operate a pallet jack, forklift and rolling truck stock.
  6. Physical demands include working outside in working conditions that vary depending on seasons. Temperature variations and inclement weather are real aspects of the work environment. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs or more, spend long amounts of time sitting, stooping, reaching, bending, climbing, standing or walking. Overtime may be required.
