Driver (Non-CDL) - Windows

Location: Fort Myers, FL

LouMac is a leading distributor of aluminum, vinyl, clad and wood windows & doors to contractors in the Southwest Florida market. We are currently looking for a full-time Driver. 

Position Review:  

Delivers materials to job site, inspects and maintains truck, reports shortages and claims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. Not CDL driver but may require some certification depending on State law.

Essential Job Duties:  

  1. Checks orders for accuracy.
  2. Organizes and secures load.
  3. Obtains approval on all loads from supervisor for proper count and conditions of load.
  4. Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
  5. Assists forklift operators when loading.
  6. Accounts for all company funds, such as C.O.D.’s.
  7. Delivers and unloads materials to customer‘s satisfaction.
  8. Follows guidelines from supervisor.
  9. Completes daily equipment inspection.
  10. Records all merchandise that is returned by truck.
  11. Completes necessary paperwork such as delivery tickets and credit slips.
  12. Logs in deliveries on Assistant Material Manager’s log sheet.
  13. Waits on customers while truck is being loaded.
  14. Assists in unloading material returned for credit.
  15. Relays messages sent by customers while on job.
  16. Assists supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned.
  17. Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance. 
  18. Other duties as assigned by Management. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  

  1. Minimum education required— High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED). 
  2. Minimum experience required—2 years experience driving trucks.
  3. Special skills required— Ability to do arithmetic, read orders, writes instructions and complete forms.
  4. Communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
  5. Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
  6. Other—Clean driving record and current operator’s license.
  7. Physical demands include stooping, bending, twisting and throwing. Working in a variety of climates and environmental conditions. Ability to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
